Answers to your Questions

What is a Doula?

I'm glad you asked! A Birth Doula is a support person trained to provide continuous support during labor, birth, & immediate postpartum, educational resources for your birthing experience, emotional support and assistance, & encouragement. Unlike doctors & Midwives, Doula's do not deliver or "catch" the baby; we are there catering to your needs to make your delivery as 'easy' & comfortable as possible.

Do you perform any physical examinations?

Nope. Physical examinations are beyond the scope of a doula. During labor is when I will provide physical comfort measures to help you cope with contractions. You got this! Keep the questions coming :)

Do you replace my partner/family?

Absolutely, NOT!
While I am excited to establish our own bond, the energy between you and your significant/loved ones can not be duplicated.  We will work together to make the transition to parenthood smooth!

How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?

Simple; It won't! Your partner should still be present. They know you, and I know birth. I will provide different materials for you both to work on as your due date approaches, geared to strengthen your bond and keep you both on the same page. Together, we'll make this birth experience beautiful.

What is your interaction like with Doctors?

My approach is direct with the physicians. Nurses and I work in conjunction to make your experience as comfortable and smooth as possible. I'll ask questions that I feel you may want the answer to and if a decision needs to be made, then we will ask for a moment to make that choice.

Do you offer abortion support?

Yes! Please reach out as it is customized to the individual.
